Enter the quantity, FAT % and SNF % to get the milk price per litre and the total payable amount — using the two-rate kg method Indian dairies and milk unions use.
Rates per kg of FAT and SNF are set by your dairy or union — the values above are illustrative. Don't know the SNF? Derive it from CLR and FAT with the SNF calculator.
This calculator uses the two-rate kg method: your dairy sets one price per kilogram of fat and another per kilogram of SNF (solids-not-fat). The litres you deliver are converted into kilograms of fat and SNF, each is multiplied by its rate, and the two amounts are added together.
Many cooperatives use a FAT/SNF rate chart instead — a table that maps each FAT–SNF combination to a price per litre. The two approaches give very similar results; the kg method is simply the formula behind most charts. For the full explanation with a worked example, read How to calculate milk rate from FAT and SNF.
In Dairy Giant, none of this is typed by hand: FAT/SNF readings come straight from the connected milk analyzer, the weight from the electronic scale, and your rate chart is applied automatically — so every farmer receipt shows litres, FAT, SNF, rate and amount, instantly and transparently.
